Renaissance festival

Wednesday, October 16, 2013

Last year my family and I went to the renaissance festival.  We really enjoyed! I learned that it was located on 60 acres of land. The Renaissance festival holds about 400 different shops. We also saw many different types of talented performances. We got to see how people in the Renaissance era dressed, talked, and ate. It felt as if we were jumping into the past! I definitely plan on taking my family again this year!

Wunderlich

This weekend me and my girls went to Wunderlich Farms which is located by Doerre Intermediate School. My younger daughter have been here before for a school field trip so she pretty much guided us through the Farm.

We experienced a completely unique way of living. By the end of this trip my girls and I were very thankful for our way of life and how easy God made it for us.

This is the center home where the whole family would get together and have dinners.

This was used to decorn the cob

Attended an historic re-enactment (as an Observer)

I visited the Texas Renaissance Festival this year again. This time it was with the my fellow students in the college. Basically the fun never ends at the Renaissance festival. The rides, people wearing the costumes from the old times, the huge turkey legs and the belly dancing. There were people everywhere eating, dancing, enjoying music, rock climbing, watching magic shows. It always amazes me that how these people have manage to keep this place clean and well-organized. There are people ready to show you where you should park and directions well marked, very friendly people if you need help and most of very safe environment. I salute these organizers for doing such a wonderful job for  maintaining this friendly and safe environment. Here are some more I took when I was there.

Volunteer for the Renaissance Festival.

I did volunteer in the Renaissance Festival by working behind the stage and also helping the judge. The judge would ask me to go and check on the bands who showed up and let them know when to get ready for the performance. About 20 Schools participated, some of them were really young and cute kids. I had the best time ever watching these kids playing and doing it so well.

Participation in renisance festival

I participated in the Renaissance festival with my history class this year which was a lot of fun. I showed up at 7:30am and did the job that I was assigned by my teacher. It was a very different environment of work for me. Anywhere I went people called me My Lord.

WE CELEBRATED THE AQEEQAH OF SON LAST YEAR. IT IS MANDATORY FOR US IN ISLAM TO SACRIFICE TWO GOATS FOR A BOY AND ONE FOR A GIRL. WE CHOOSE TO CELEBRATE IT WITH OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND A BIG DINNER FEAST.WE HAD ABOUT 250 GUEST. MY WIFE’S FAMILY FROM PAKISTAN WAS VISITING US, SO IT ADDED MORE FUN TO THE OCCASION.

Lincoln Movie

I watched lincoln movie last night. it was a great movie. it was a good experience watching the history and also a great lesson. There were really good battle scenes and great drama which took me very close to what happened in the history.

family history

My grandfather is not alive now but he has told us lot of stories how he migrated from India to Pakistan. In 1947 when Hindus and Muslims divide the subcontinent of India into two different parts known as India and Pakistan, my great grand parents and my grand parents had to leave India. They describe it as a very horrific event of their lives. They were happy to be a part of country where they can practice their own religion but on the other hand they were sad to leave all their assets, lands, valuables, jewellery behind. They saw a lot of blood shed , riots and local level fighting, so many people died in fact it is the largest mass migration in history. All this violence that they saw during migration would bring tears to their eyes every time they will tell us about it.
